The one-year, contact learning mode of the postgraduate diploma programme, "Technical Conservation Studies", takes the form of a resident, full-time programme.
This trimester-based programme occupies a single academic year, undertaken in its entirety at the Institute's rural campus grounds in Twee Riviere, South Africa.
This format of presentation is ideal for the candidate whom is able to separate him/herself to an expressly rural setting, to engage a 10-month period (punctuated by two recesses) of immersive, high-intensity studies and technical skills development.
Entry prerequisites are identical irrespective of format.

This multi-year (minimum 2 years), blended learning mode of the postgraduate diploma programme, "Technical Conservation Studies", essentially takes the form of a modular, distance-learning programme, initiated and supplemented by occasional, contact learning block sessions at the Institute's Twee Riviere campus. This modular route to graduation requires a minimum of two academic years to complete, though a more extended time frame will not be unusual.
This format of presentation is adapted to the candidate whom has competing personal or vocational commitments, is otherwise not free to dedicate a 10-month period to full-time studying, or elects to spread the financial burden over multiple years.
Entry prerequisites are identical irrespective of format.
